Kulgam Shuts for Second Day against Killings

Srinagar, September 12 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Kulgam district for the second consecutive day, today, against the killing of two youth by Indian troops.
According to media sources, the youth, Dawood Ahmad Ilahi and Sayar Ahmad Wani, were martyred by the troops during a siege and search operation in Khudwani area of the district, yesterday. All shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road in Kulgam, Qaimoh, Yaripora, Devsar and Damhal Hanjipora areas. Meanwhile, Kashmir Editors Guild, today, expressed serious concern over the continued detention of freelance photographer, Kamran Yousuf. The journalist body in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India’s National Investigation Agency had arrested Kamran Yousuf without in violation of legal norms prevalent in a democratic set-up.
