Indian Atrocities Eye-Opener for World: Mirwaiz Forum

Srinagar, October 30 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum-led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the use of military might to crush the genuine struggle of Kashmiri people serves as an eye-opener for the international community as well as global human rights watchdogs believing in democracy. According to media sources, a Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the continued house arrest of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the fresh wave of atrocities unleashed by Indian forces on Kashmiri people.  The spokesman also denounced the arrest of family members of prominent liberation leader, Syed Salahuddin by India’s National Investigation Agency, sending summons to rest of the family members and calling them to New Delhi for questioning as political vendetta. He said harassing family members by NIA in the name of questions deserves all forms of condemnations. “The grandson of Salahuddin is a student and summoning him to New Delhi will negatively affect his educational career,” he added.
