Appointment of Interlocutor Ploy to Mislead World

Srinagar, November 07 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have termed the visit by India-appointed interlocutor on Kashmir to the territory in the name of initiation of so-called dialogue process as an attempt to hoodwink the international community. According to media sources, Tehreek-e-Mazahmat Chairman, Bilal Siddiuqi, in a statement in Srinagar said that the meaningful tripartite talks were the only way out to find solution to the Kashmir dispute. He said that people of Kashmir being principal party to the dispute could not be dictated terms by occupier India. He reiterated that Pakistan was one of the essential parties to the dispute and no permanent solution of the long-pending dispute was possible without active participation of Islamabad in the dialogue process. Muslim Democratic League Chief, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, in a statement urged India to give up obduracy and take steps towards implementation of the UN resolutions for settlement of the Kashmir dispute in the interest of peace in South Asia. He added that bilateral talks with interlocutor would be a futile exercise as there was no let up in killing and detention by India in the territory. Kashmir Freedom Front head, Syed Bashir Andrabi, said that appointment of interlocutor on Kashmir by India was a ploy to mislead the international community. He asked New Delhi that if it was so democratic, why it was using military might to crush the Kashmiris’ peaceful liberation struggle. Dukhtaran-e-Millat General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in her statement in Srinagar appealed to the people of Kashmir not to pay any heed to the so-called Indian initiative. She said that these were the gimmicks meant to keep the people of Kashmir busy in trivial issues and practices. “The only solution which is acceptable to the people of Kashmir is that we should be given our right to self-determination based on the two-nation theory,” she added. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, and Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement in their statements termed the appointment of interlocutor as a futile exercise. They said that only tripartite talks among India, Pakistan and genuine Kashmiri leadership of Kashmir was the way forward for resolution of the Kashmir dispute. KASHMIR VOICE
