Mirwaiz Apprises Bosnian Ambassador of IOK Situation

Srinagar, November 10 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has apprised ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sobit Subasic, of lingering Kashmir dispute and the prevailing grim situation of the territory. According to media sources, the Bosnian envoy called on Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence in Srinagar. During the meeting, they discussed a series of issues. The Mirwaiz informed the visiting dignitary about the immense sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir in their ongoing struggle for securing their right to self-determination and the sufferings that they have gone through in the past seventy years, in general, and the last thirty years, in particular. He told the envoy that the fourth generation of Kashmiris was getting consumed by the Kashmir dispute since 1947, as they are fed up of the repression and status quo and want the settlement of the dispute as per their aspirations. He said that because of the Kashmir issue, two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan had fought three wars so far and were perpetually at loggerheads and in confrontational mode and the routine border skirmishes between their armies were taking a serious toll on innocent humans on both sides of the Line of Control. The Mirwaiz said, Kashmiri people and their leadership believe that justice and fairness demand that Kashmir dispute should be resolved as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations and this can be done either through granting them the right to self-determination or through sincere and result-oriented dialogue among the three parties to the dispute – India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir. He told Sabit Subasic that people of Kashmir are highly desirous of peace in the region and friendly relations between Pakistan and India as they were the worst sufferers of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the stubborn attitude of India as the biggest hurdle in way of settlement of the longstanding dispute. KASHMIR VOICE
