1-Stop I-Card Intrusion into Kashmiris’ Private Lives: DeM

Srinagar, December 03 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has said that India’s plan to issue 1-stop identity card to the Kashmiris is yet another conspiracy to breach the privacy and intrude into the personal lives of the people of the territory.
According to media sources, the DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Indian government was planning to issue 1-stop I-card to the people of Kashmir to keep a check on their movement. She said that the plan to issue it only for the people of Kashmir was a matter of grave concern. “It was issued to residents of border areas but now the authorities are planning to issue it to the people of Kashmir. It only means that they want to bring every Kashmiri under their surveillance net,” she added. Nahida Nasreen said, the Kashmiris’ rights have been snatched by India. “Such measures by New Delhi only expose the level of frustration it is going through. India actually knows that every Kashmiri wants freedom; that’s why there is a plan to issue such a card to the Kashmiris,” she said. KASHMIR VOICE
