Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah Remembered on Death Anniversary

Islamabad, June 03 (Kashmir Voice): The 51st death anniversary of one of the pioneers of Kashmir freedom struggle and religious scholar, Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah, was observed with religious fervour and respect in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan. According to media sources, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell organised a programme in Islamabad to remember the political, social and religious contributions of Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah. Prominent personalities from Azad Kashmir and Pakistan including APHC-AJK Convener Syed Faiz Naqshbandi participated in the function. However, in occupied Kashmir, Indian authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions across Srinagar and detained resistance leadership including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to thwart a the function scheduled to be held at Aali Masjid in Srinagar to pay tributes to Mujahir-e-Milat, Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah.
