Killing Spree Won’t Break Kashmiris Resolve: Mirwaiz Forum

Srinagar July 01 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Faroaoq has said that the killing spree cannot break the Kashmiris’ resolve and would continue their struggle till complete success. According to media sources, the Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the fresh wave of killing spree coupled with the detention and house confinement of Hurriyat leaders and booking leaders under various cases by Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). It said, “The NIA has no moral justification for framing fake charges against senior resistance leader, Aasiya Andrabi and her close associate, Fehmeeda Sofi as they are already languishing in prison since long and that these steps are nothing but a mere frustration of New Delhi that has failed to break the resolve of people of Kashmir.” The Hurriyat forum said arresting resistance leaders and lodging them in jails to muzzle the movement for right to self-determination was tried in the past but failed to yield results for Delhi and now same old methods are being employed which are destined to fail. The forum lauded the patience and courage of resistance leaders lodged in Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail that include Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Merajudin Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shahid Yousuf, Muhamamd Aslam Wani, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Zahoor Ahmed Watali while others who are lodged in various other prisons that include Masrat Alam Butt, Muzaffar Dar, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Muhamamd Shafi Shariati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, Tariq Ahmed Dar, Manzoor Ahmed, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Abdul Ghani Dar, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Shakeel Ahmed Itoo, Mir Hafizulah, Ameer Hamzah Shah, Abdul Rashid Mugloo, Sirajudin and Farooq Ahmed Towheedi”.
