Shutdown in Kupwara, Pulwama & Shopian against Killings

Srinagar, July 01 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being in Kupwara, Pulwama and Shopian districts against the killing of a youth, Sajjad Ahmed and a class 9th boy, Faizan, by the Indian forces during a cordon and search operation and firing on protesters in Pulwama district, the other day. According to media sources, Sajad Ahmad was killed by the troops during a violent military operation in Chatpora area of Pulwama, and teenage boy Faizan Ahmad Poswal, was martyred in firing by the forces on protesters in the area. All shops, other business establishments and educational institutions are closed, while traffic is very thin in the three districts. A police official said that heavy contingents of police and Central Reserve Police Force were deployed in all major towns and cities of the three districts to thwart street protests.
