NIA Prolonging Detention of Kashmiri Prisoners: APHC

Srinagar, July 22 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has castigated the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) for not presenting detainees in court, saying it is prolonging their cases on one pretext or the other.
According to media sources, the APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in different jails and particularly in Tihar jail. It said: “Those arrested by NIA and ED are facing toughest times of their lives as they are not being presented on scheduled dates for hearing in respective courts. It said Indian judiciary has already succumbed before the NIA, adding it is evident by the fact that it is not passing a single bail order in favor of the Kashmiri prisoners despite the fact that the ED and NIA have completely failed in proving any charges against the accused including Shabbir Shah, Peer Saif Ullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Merajudin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Nayiem Ahmad Khan, Shahid Yousuf, Mohammad Aslam Wani, Zahoor Watali and Farooq Ahmad Dar. Meanwhile, Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi called on APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Muhammad Ashrafi Sehrai in Srinagar. He reiterated to continue the freedom struggle till its logical conclusion. KASHMIR VOICE
