Gilani Terms Sheikh Aziz A Visionary Political Leader

Srinagar, August 11 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani paid rich tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on his 10th martyrdom anniversary, today.
According to media sources, Syed Ali Gilani, who is under house arrest, telephonically addressing a conference held at the Hurriyat headquarters in Srinagar termed Sheikh Aziz as a visionary political leader as well as a brave commander, who dared to face bullets on his chest rather than to succumb or surrender before the Indian military might, although he was leading a peaceful protest march of millions of people. He said that although usually Sheikh Aziz would remain silent in the company of his fellow leaders yet his body language would speak louder that he was ready to sacrifice even his life for the sacred cause of right to self-determination. This he proved on 11th of August 2008, he said. He said that the best way to pay tributes to Kashmiri martyrs was to remain with the movement honestly and seriously till it reached to its logical conclusion. Syed Ali Gilani urged all the APHC units to start a door to door election boycott campaign to root out any political writ of India. Hurriyat leaders including Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Sheikh Abdul Raheem, Mohammad Yasin Attai, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Iqbal Shaheen, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Nisar Hussain Rathar, Ghulam Mohammad Nagoo, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Ghulam Nabi Darzi, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Abdul Hameed Ilahi, Arshad Ahmad Butt, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, Gowhar Ahmad and Khawaja Maqbool Magami in addition to a selected number of pro-freedom workers participated in the conference. Syed Ali Gilani also condoled with the bereaved family of illegally detained senior APHC leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt on the demise of his uncle, Engineer Mohammad Asadullah Butt. On the directives of Syed Ali Gilani a delegation including Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Yasmeen Raja, Nisar Hussain Rathar, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Ghazi Manzoor, Abdul Rasheed Kolpoori and Khawaja Firdous visited the residence of the deceased and conveyed a condolence message of Syed Ali Gilani to the grief-stricken family on the demise of Engineer Mohammad Asadullah Butt.
