JKLF Leader Arrested, Booked Under PSA in IOK

Srinagar, August 10 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, from Hawal area of Srinagar and booked him under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to media sources, Zahoor Ahmed Butt is younger brother of prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who was hanged by India in its notorious Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984, for his active role in the ongoing freedom movement. Zahoor Ahmed Butt has been lodged at Nowhatta Police Station in Srinagar. The JKLF in a statement while strongly condemning the arrest of its leader said that the arrest and harassment of political leaders and activists were continuing unabated which was highly regrettable. It also denounced the prolonged illegal detention of party leaders, Sirajuddin Mir and Abdul Rasheed Magloo, who have been detained at Kot Bhalwal Jail under the PSA for the last five months. The JKLF said that harsh and brutal tactics by the Indian authorities could not force the Kashmiri people into submission and they would take the ongoing freedom struggle till it reached its logical conclusion.
