Interim Bail Plea for Shahid-ul-Islam’s Release Filed in NIA Court

Srinagar, January 15 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Shahid-ul-Islam, have said that an interim bail plea for his release has been filed before a court of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Delhi.
According to media sources, the family members told media that after Shahid-ul-Islam’s wife, Nuzhat Shah, suffered a brain stroke at JVC hospital in Srinagar last Sunday, his counsel Advocate Rajat Kumar filed an interim bail plea for his release on humanitarian grounds before the NIA Court. Shahid-ul-Islam and several other Hurriyat leaders were arrested by the NIA in 2017 in false cases registered against them. They have been lodged in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and an executive member of the amalgam, Bilal Ghani Lone, called on the ailing Nuzhat Shah to enquire about her health. KASHMIR VOICE
