Yousuf Zangi Remembered on His Martyrdom Anniversary

Islamabad, January 23 (Kashmir Voice): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has paid rich tributes to prominent freedom fighter, Muhammad Yousuf Chopan on the occasion of his 19th martyrdom anniversary.
According to media sources, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad, today, lauded the sacrifices of Shaheed Muhammad Yousuf Chopan, also known as Zangi, and said that he was a committed and brave freedom fighter who played significant role in the freedom struggle during 1990s.
Farooq Rehmani also condemned in strong terms the ongoing wave of arrests and other forms of repression unleashed by the Indian forces against the Kashmiris ahead of the Indian Republic Day (January 26), which will be observed as Black Day in the occupied territory. Meanwhile, Quran Khawani was held and homage was paid to Shaheed Muhammad Yousuf Zangi during different prayer meetings that took place at various places in occupied Kashmir, today. Muhammad Yousuf Zangi fell to the bullets of the Indian troops on 23 January 2000 at Bootho in Bandipora. KASHMIR VOICE
