Shutdown in Srinagar against Sumbal Incident

Srinagar, May 13 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown is being observed in several parts of Srinagar, today, against the rape of a three-year-old girl in Sumbal area of Bandipore district.
According to media sources, shutdown call was given by the senior Hurriyat leader, Maulana Abbas Ansari. Shops and business establishments are closed in most parts of the city and the skeptical movement of traffic is visible on the roads while many schools in Srinagar are closed. People also staged protests in Alamgari Bazaar and Saida Kadal areas of the city. The protestors are demanding action against the culprit who is in police custody. Meanwhile, heavy deployment of the Indian forces has been made in Srinagar. Train services from Baramulla-Budgam have been suspended. On the other hand, a 23-year-old youth was injured critically as clashes and protests against rape of minor girl from Sumbal rocked several parts of Kashmir Valley. High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir abstained from court work as a mark of solidarity with the three-year-old rape victim. KASHMIR VOICE
