Srinagar, September 12 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, India is using the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Kashmir to muzzle voices that have opposed the assault on the Article 35A of Indian constitution, said a civil society group.
According to media sources, senior lawyer G N Shaheen who is a member of the group addressing a press conference in Srinagar said, “NIA is being used as weapon to suppress and muzzle the voices against the abrogation of Article 35A. It is a ploy to take away the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.” He, however, vowed to oppose the move tooth and nail. G N Shaheen said India is using state forces against the Kashmiri people. “There is unanimity among all political sections and social, cultural and economic organizations that Article 35A should be left untouched till the final resolution of Kashmir dispute,” he added. Another member of the group, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, commenting on Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Kashmir, said the visit has raised apprehensions instead of hopes. “Kashmir is not a law and order problem or an economic issue which could be solved by force or economic packages, but it is a political issue that demands political measures for its solution,” he added. He said, petitions calling for abrogation of Article 35A are one more attempt to dilute Article 370, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Indian Constitution. President of Awami National Conference, Muzaffar Shah said, “To build consensus for safeguarding the Article 35A, we will confront all legal and political challenges thrown at it by the adversaries.” The Chairman of All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), Jagmohan Singh Raina, and Advocate Mir Javaid were also present on the occasion. Srinagar, September 12 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the escalating tension between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India poses a widespread threat to a large chunk of human population in South Asia and global peace at large.
According to media sources, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar advised India that instead of trampling fundamental rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, it should read writing on the wall and fulfill its commitments made before the international community. The APHC Chairman expressed his deep concern over the supply of helicopters loaded with war-heads to Central Reserve Police Force and lethal weaponry and armoured vehicles to police. He termed the move a brazen military action. The move, he added, provides an ample proof that authorities in Delhi are hell bent to suppress and subjugate aspirations and fundamental rights of distressed people in occupied Kashmir. “This war-like policy is quite contrary to the statements of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh wherein he has said that India will change Kashmir into a paradise,” he said. “It illustrates that India is least concerned about the people, and is solely interested in land and resources of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added. Syed Ali Gilani suggested the authorities in New Delhi to shun their arrogant and military approach and implement political standards for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He said Kashmir is a humanitarian issue, which can be peacefully resolved through the Indian Independence Act of 1947 that can guarantee peace and overall prosperity for more than one billion population living in South Asia. Meanwhile, on the instructions of Syed Ali Gilani, a team led by Shah Wali Muhammad and Bashir Ahmad Qureshi visited Kachloo, Rafiabad and paid tributes to martyred youth, Shahid Ahmad. KASHMIR VOICE
Srinagar, September 12 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat has said that Jammu and Kashmir will only be heaven on earth when India ends its illegal occupation by withdrawing its brutal forces from the territory.
According to media sources, the DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement in Srinagar while reacting to the Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s remarks said that Kashmir had been turned into a hell by the Indian forces and the ugly Indian occupation. Rajnath Singh during his visit to Kashmir had said that India would change Kashmir into a paradise. “It is India which has turned Kashmir into a killing field. Tens of thousands of people have been murdered by the Indian forces; hundreds of thousands have been injured. The miseries of Kashmiris will end only when the illegal Indian occupation of the territory ends,” she added. Nahida Nasreen said that such visits by the Indian politicians were useless and futile and were only meant to hoodwink the people as well as the international community. “There had been so many such futile exercises in the past; the only solution to Kashmir issue is to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination,” she stated. “No A, B or C formulae will work in Kashmir. Only permanent solution to Kashmir dispute is that India leaves Kashmir by ending its illegal and brutal occupation,” she maintained. Meanwhile, Nahida Nasreen paid glowing tributes to the youth who were recently martyred by Indian troops in Shopian and Kulgam districts. KASHMIR VOICE
Mumbai, September 12 (Kashmir Voice): Radha Kumar, former Indian interlocutor for occupied Kashmir, has deplored that the suggestions and recommendations put forth by her team were not implemented by the Indian government. According to media sources, in the wake of 2010 mass uprising, New Delhi had in October 2010 appointed Radha Kumar, along with Dilip Padgaonkar and M M Ansari, as interlocutors for the occupied territory. Speaking at a seminar in Mumbai on “Foreign Policy Challenges” for India, Radha criticized the BJP government for badly handling its policy on Pakistan and Kashmir. “It is a challenge before our foreign policy. The way we are handling Jammu and Kashmir issue, we are allowing more hostile elements in Pakistan. “There is a flip-flop in our government’s behaviour and it is creating an image of inconsistency,” she said. To a question by former Rajya Sabha member, Bhalchandra Mungekar about India under the current dispensation “leaning more towards Israel than towards Palestine”, Kumar said, “We are getting deeply communal. I cannot go on talking about it, but this is the fact that we are becoming deeply communal.” KASHMIR VOICE
