JRL Condemns Notice to Mian Qayoom

Srinagar, September 05 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned a notice issued to President of Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom, by the Delhi-based, National Investigation Agency. According to media sources, terming the NIA notice to Mian Qayoom as fabrication tactics, the leaders in a joint statement in Srinagar said that such acts would serve nothing, but would further deteriorate the situation.  “Mian Abdul Qayoom is an honest and God fearing man; so every Kashmir has full faith in his integrity and honesty. Harassing the Bar leader is aimed at silencing him, because he is supporting the cause of people of Jammu and Kashmir and defending the detenues and under-trial prisoners who have been kept behind the bars without any trial,” the statement added.  The leaders urged India to realize that the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination, which could not be wished away by such tactics and the people of the Jammu and Kashmir would not be subjugated through such oppressive measures. Meanwhile, the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) in a statement termed the NIA probe a ploy and said the agency has become a tool in the hand of RSS to harass and muzzle the civil society faces in Kashmir. Jammu, September 05 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, former member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, and Chief Patron of Jammu and Kashmir Peace and Solidarity Forum, Sheikh Abdul Rehman lambasted the puppet for its failure on all fronts. According to media sources, talking to reporters in Jammu Sheikh Abdul Rehman said there is a visible contradiction in the policies and programmes among the coalition partners which has paralyzed the administration with the result the problems of the people have been compounded. He said the machinations of the Bharatiya Janata Party to repeal this constitutional proviso through a judicial process will not be allowed to succeed. Referring to a weak defense being put up by the PDP-BJP regime in its counter-affidavit in the apex court, Sheikh said that both the coalition partners were using Article 35A as per their specific agendas. “While the BJP is playing to galleries across the country by whipping up passions on this issue, the PDP is trying to involve the defenders of Article 35A by pretending to be serious in safeguarding this constitutional guarantee,” he said.  Sheikh cautioned against the conspiracies being hatched by the BJP to dispense with Article 370 and Article 35A as per their well-stitched strategy. Indian Police Arrest Thk Leader Umar Aadil Dar in IOK

Srinagar, September 05 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Tehreek-e- Hurriyat leader, Umar Aadil Dar at Nowgam in Srinagar, today.  According to media sources, Omar Aadil Dar has been shifted to Humhama Police Station in Srinagar. The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader has been arrested on fake charges filed against him.  Meanwhile, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the arrest of Aadil Dar. Protests in IOK against Killings of Rohingya Muslims 

Srinagar, September 05 (Kashmir Voice): In occupied Kashmir, protests were held in Pulwama and Kulgam districts to express solidarity with the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. According to media sources, lawyers and students took out two separate protest rallies in Pulwama town against the persecution of Rohingya Muslims. The rallies were organised and taken out by Pulwama Bar Association and students of Government Boys Degree College Pulwama. Several lawyers and hundreds of students hit the main town in Pulwama and chanted slogans in favor of Rohingyas and demanded an end to the violence. Protests were also held in Kulgam district against the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims. The youth staged a march and raised slogans against the Myanmar government. KASHMIR VOICE
